Karate Classes
Hybrid Martial Arts training that offer the benefits of traditional
Karate with a blend of Reality Based Self Defense.
Our program excels at giving students the confidence they need to better handle day to day situations combined with a fantastic workout; you might even have some fun along the way!
This is not a bootcamp program, but a year-long training opportunity geared towards families and children as young as 5 years-old. Not many activities offer families the chance to train side by side. We encourage parents to join as well and benefit from watching their children progress and develop the essential life skills Karate has to offer. This program will allow every student the chance to get/stay in shape while they chase that dream of acquiring their Black Belt.
Every new student will receive a free Gi / Uniform with enrollment. Classes will follow the traditional Karate belt system: starting at White Belt and graduating all the way up to
Black Belt and beyond!

Head Instructor Sensei Todd Sullivan is the only person in the GTA certified to teach the P.D.R. (Personal Defense Readiness) System, this practical, yet ground breaking system is now being taught to various Police Forces, Military, Tactical Teams and Martial Artists around the world.
(The PDR program is included in our classes at no extra charge)

This program will offer a unique hybrid Martial Arts system
consisting of traditional Karate, blended with state-of-the-art reality based
self defense instruction and anti-bullying techniques, for all ages.
Each class will start out with stretching, moving on to
a moderate workout, then onto the basics of Karate, Self-Defense and the PDR Program.
Students can expect to learn the mechanics of punching, kicking, blocking,
self defense techniques, anti-bullying strategies, and "the cost of violence".
While violence is not the only option in our program, we'll address real life issues through our PDR - 3D scenario model, Detect, Defuse, Defend.
Class Times at Pickering Village United Church are:
Sundays 3:30 to 4:30pm and Thursdays 7:00 to 8:00pm

Class Times at the Whitby Curling Club:
Mondays 7:00pm to 8:00pm

All options include 3 classes a week and new students receive a FREE Gi/Uniform as well.
Our program qualifies for the child fitness tax credit.
Discounts available for students from the same immediate family: 10% discount for the 2nd family member, 20% for the 3rd, 30% for the 4th.
Registration is available at the beginning of any class, any time of the year.
Currently offering 2 class times with the possibility of additional class times being offered in the near future, train one or both days, whichever is most convenient.
