Held in the full sized gym at Pickering Village United Church: 300 Church Street, Ajax
Regular Camp hours: 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday

Only $239 per week
(additional campers from the same immediate family fee = $216 each)

Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, secure, and non-competitive week of adventure, exercise, fitness and fun, to all participants, where children are encouraged to make new friends and learn exciting new skills through a healthy mix of sports, arts and crafts, and some added Martial Arts flair.
No previous experience required.

Most every other summer camp offers a variety of sport based activities and games,
why not give your child something more valuable than a week of games this summer,
give them the gift of SELF CONFIDENCE!!!
(although we do have games, sports, and arts and crafts as well)

Our Motto is "WITH EXPOSURE, COMES COMPOSURE"
This summer program will offer a unique Hybrid Martial Arts system
consisting of traditional Karate, blended with State-of-the-Art Reality Based
Self-Defense instruction and anti-bullying techniques, designed to teach your child
important life skills such as balance, coordination, strength, courtesy, friendship,
respect, focus, confidence, teamwork, discipline and fitness.
Karate Kids Camp is suitable for children ages 5 to 14.

We'll prepare your children to better handle conflicts in a
non-violent manner.

As well as an amazing Martial Arts experience, students will participate in a variety of different activities, from games and sports, to age appropriate arts and crafts. Most classes will take place in a fully furnished, full size gym, we also have access to regulation size soccer fields for of all our outdoor activities.

We recognize that each child is different and learn at their own pace, and have planned
our program accordingly, with one hour of Martial Arts instruction, followed by
one hour of a different Sports or Arts based activity as initiated by one of our
Early Childhood Education (ECE) instructors. Students will receive 3 to 4 hours of
Martial Arts instruction each day that will include personal 1-on-1 instruction with a
Black Belt instructor.

Each class will start out with some light stretching, moving on to a moderate workout, then onto the basics of Karate/Self-Defense.
Students will be taught skills such as blocks, kicks, strikes, escapes, and street proofing, as well as self-defense techniques, anti-bullying strategies, stranger danger, and will demonstrate their first Kata (forms) by the end of the final day.
Student's will receive a white belt at the beginning of the first class, and will strive to earn their basics (punching, kicking, and blocking) stripe by the end of the week as well.

Some of the Martial Arts instruction will be done through the use of interactive group games, we want to keep the students stimulated and interested, not exhausted!

Regular summer attire is all that's needed, a lunch (peanut free please), snacks and water to last the day, sunscreen and a hat.

If your child has shown an interest in the Martial Arts, this is the perfect opportunity
to give them a better understanding and an introduction to the ancient arts.
Each Friday, we'll have a Pizza lunch or a visit to the Ice Cream shop,YUMMMM!

Parents: If you don't have 5 to 7 years to attain your Black Belt, enrol in one of our
Self-Defense Seminar’s which will teach you all the basic tools and techniques needed to
"Avoid when possible, or Prevail when pushed"

Head Instructor, Todd Sullivan, is an Internationally recognized 2nd Dan Black Belt in Karate,
has achieved the Blauer Tactical Confrontation Management Systems
Personal Defensive Readiness Instructor™ certification; has additional training in both Judo and Aikido; and is First Aid and CPR certified.
As well, all our Karate Instructors hold Internationally recognized Black Belts.
Our ECE instructors are both caring and professional.
ALL instructors have valid First Aid/CPR certificates and have undergone police background checks.
